GED Hero ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and shared when you use our mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: when you register, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider).
- Profile data: avatar selection, display name, and study preferences such as your target exam date.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: quiz scores, questions answered, study streaks, XP, and achievement progress.
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and app instance identifiers.
- Analytics data: via Firebase Analytics — screen views, session duration, and feature usage.
1.3 Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements to free-tier users. Ads in GED Hero are served as non-personalized ads: we do not request personalized advertising, and the App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. AdMob may still process limited device data (such as coarse device information and approximate general location derived from IP) as necessary to serve and measure non-personalized ads and to prevent fraud.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Track your learning progress and provide personalized study feedback inside the App
- Display advertisements to free-tier users (non-personalized)
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Send push notifications, only with your consent
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the App work:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and analytics
- Google AdMob: non-personalized advertising (free tier only)
- RevenueCat: subscription management and purchase validation
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (TLS) and access-controlled databases. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights & Account Deletion
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for data processing.
You can delete your account and associated data directly in the App: Profile → Delete My Account. You may also email us to request deletion.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is designed for adult learners and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision.
